The net irrigated area and gross irrigated area has increased by 1.83 percent and 2.15 percent, respectively during the same period. A remarkable growth in productivity of paddy, wheat, coarse cereals and oilseeds was witnessed. The annual compound growth rate in use of nitrogenous, phosphatic and potassic fertilizers was 4.90 percent, 5.13 percent and 6.10 percent, respectively. The significant growth rate in the flow of farm credit registered for both production and investment credit by institutional credit agencies.
